Kyrgyzstan's passes reopen - Ministry of Transport

Bishkek, Jan. 2, 2026 /Kabar/. As of 11:00 on January 2, there are no traffic restrictions at all major passes in Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to the ministry, clear weather has set in at the Too-Ashuu, Sook, Choo-Ashuu, Dolon, Char, Ak-Beyit, and Kubaky passes, as well as in the Boom Gorge, and traffic is operating as usual. The Otmok Pass on the Suusamyr-Talas-Taraz highway is also open.

The ministry noted that road services are conducting daily road safety maintenance.

Drivers are urged to take winter road conditions into account, use winter tires, carry the necessary equipment, and strictly adhere to traffic regulations.
