Bishkek, June 9, 2026. /Kabar/. President Sadyr Zhaparov signs amendments in Law on road safety on June 9, tightening drunk drivers.
As noted by Nurlan Niyazbekov, head of main department of road safety, if driver was drunk causing car accident, resulting serious injuries or death, neither a restraining order nor probation will help. In this case, the driver looses driver's license and freedom.
“Revocation of driving license begins upon release. This period is not considered while serving the sentence,” said Niyazbekov.
