Bishkek, March 27, 2025. /Kabar /. In 2024, the number of transportation of goods by road from Russia to Kyrgyzstan increased by 35% compared to the previous year. Such statistics are cited by the Vedomosti newspaper.
This generally corresponds to the trend of growth in transport in all directions. However, Kyrgyzstan was among the countries where the increase in applications was significantly less than in some other post-Soviet states.
According to the analytical platform ATI.SU, the largest increase in the number of applications for export transportation was recorded in such countries as Belarus (+ 67%), Azerbaijan (+ 69%), Kazakhstan (+ 44%). These figures indicate a significantly higher interest in road transport to other CIS countries compared to Kyrgyzstan, which is due to a number of factors. These include strengthening trade ties between these countries, developing new economic initiatives and expanding production capacity against the backdrop of political changes and the creation of alternative logistics routes.
However, the dynamics of growth in transportation to Kyrgyzstan also has its reasons. The growth in the volume of freight transportation to the country is partly explained by the continuation of integration processes within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), as well as the growth of mutual trade and increased demand for goods from Russia.
The economic situation associated with the reorientation of exports and the improvement of infrastructure also has an impact. At the same time, according to experts, one should not exclude the influence of factors such as temporary changes in transportation tariffs and the optimization of logistics routes.
