South Korean corporation KT&G explore investment opportunities in Kyrgyz economy

Bishkek, Oct. 20, 2025. /Kabar/. On October 15, Minister of Economy and Commerce Bakyt Sydykov met with Bang Kyung-man, President of the South Korean corporation KT&G.

According to the ministry, during the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for expanding KT&G's investment in Kyrgyzstan, including high-tech projects in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, as well as real estate.

The minister noted that Kyrgyzstan has rich natural resources, including unique medicinal herbs and white honey, which create competitive advantages for related industries and demonstrates sustainable growth in the construction industry.

In this regard, Bakyt Sydykov urged the South Korean company to consider investing in the country's pharmaceutical sector by building a corresponding production facility.

In turn, Bang Kyung-mang expressed interest in further expanding the company's operations in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The parties expressed confidence that this meeting would mark a new stage in the development of their bilateral partnership, open up opportunities for joint investment projects, and contribute to strengthening socioeconomic cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea.
