Bishkek, Aug. 18, 2025 /Kabar/. For the first time in the history of Kyrgyzstan, the X-WATERS international open water swim will be held on the shores of Issyk-Kul Lake on August 30, 2025, the organizers of the event - World Class Kyrgyzstan reported.
The event will be held in the Kapriz Sports Center under the auspices of the world-famous X-WATERS competition series, which unites amateur and professional swimmers from all over the world.
“X-WATERS is not just a sporting event, but part of a global sports movement. X-WATERS swims are held annually in the most picturesque corners of the world: from Lake Baikal in Russia to Lake Bled in Slovenia, from the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro to the resort shores of Thailand and Antalya. Now the legendary Issyk-Kul is in this lineup,” the organizers noted.
The competition program includes distances for participants of various skill levels:
To date, participants from the following countries have registered: Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Canada, Romania, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, Kyrgyzstan, Russia.
This confirms the growing international interest in the event and the status of Issyk-Kul as a new world-class sports location, the report said.
The event complies with all international safety and sports ethics standards.
The event is supported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the State Agency for Youth, Culture, Physical Culture and Sports under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Registration for participation will be open until August 26, 2025.
