Bishkek, Dec. 8, 2025 /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev visited the Kyrgyz-Uzbek automobile plant "Tulpar Motors" and witnessed production process.
According to the ministry, the official opening of the plant took place on July 18, 2024, with the online participation of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The project was implemented based on agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the government of Uzbekistan and is aimed at producing passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
The plant's production capacity is reportedly up to 10,000 vehicles per year, with potential for subsequent expansion to 30,000 units. The project will create over 1,000 jobs. Construction of the plant began in May 2023, and its total area is 4.5 hectares.
In addition, to support the purchase of vehicles produced at the Tulpar Motors plant, the "Preferential car loan" program was launched.
Loans are provided under the following terms:
Interest rate: 8% per annum
Down payment: 20%
Participating banks: Eldik Bank and Aiyl Bank
"The launch of the Tulpar Motors plant marks a new stage in the development of the Kyrgyz automotive industry, expanding the country's production potential. The total investment is approximately $50 million, and the project is being implemented in three stages," the statement says.
