Bishkek, Dec. 3, 2025. /Kabar/. Interbank Processing Center (operator of the Elkart national payment system) and the international platform Alipay+ successfully completed the first test transaction as part of the Alipay+/ELQR integration.
According to the organization, the test took place at the Alipay+ office in Shanghai during working visit to China by Altymysh Turatbekov, Chairman of Interbank Processing Center (IPC).
During the meeting, specialists tested a test scenario for payment via QR code to Alipay. The transaction was successful, confirming the active and systematic progress of the integration process. This new phase of cooperation opens up additional opportunities for expanding the accessibility of digital payments for Kyrgyz citizens and foreign visitors.
Altymysh Turatbekov, IPC Chairman, noted that in the first phase, users will be able to quickly and conveniently pay for goods and services via QR code to Alipay+ without any additional steps. In the second phase, the project will be expanded to include two-way payments, enabling mutual acceptance of QR code payments between the systems.
As a reminder, in September, IPC and Alipay+ signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Shanghai. The document marked key step in achieving the goals set by the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic: developing cross-border payments, digital services, and international cooperation. The agreement effectively establishes digital bridge between Kyrgyzstan and China, as well as the countries where Alipay+ operates.
Background: Alipay+ is international digital payments platform from Ant International.
