New Year celebrations held on Ala-Too Square in Bishkek

Bishkek, Jan. 1, 2026 /Kabar/. A large-scale event was held at Ala-Too Square in Bishkek as part of the 2026 New Year celebrations, the capital city Mayor’s Office reported.

Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev, Acting Chairman of the Bishkek City Council Zhyldyzbek Abdraimov, and deputy mayors participated in the event.

The mayor congratulated residents and visitors on the upcoming New Year and also highlighted significant city development projects for 2025.

"This year, the city hall has implemented large-scale projects. As everyone knows, these include the Alga Sports Complex, the Zhashtyk Arena, an eco-technological solid waste recycling plant with electricity generation, the first in Central Asia, and other significant infrastructure facilities. May our city develop and prosper. I hope that our successes will continue in 2026," the mayor added.

Following the mayor's ceremonial address, the festive program for residents and guests of the capital continued. Kyrgyz pop stars performed on stage, creating a festive mood and joy for everyone present.
