Bishkek, Aug. 31, 2026. /Kabar/. Today, August 31, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov received Sergio Gor, United States Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs and US Ambassador to the Republic of India, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan to participate in the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games.
The two sides exchanged views on the further development of Kyrgyz-American relations, strengthening political dialogue, and expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the "Central Asia + United States" (C5+1) format. In this regard, the parties discussed the prospects for holding a second summit of heads of state in this format in 2027.
In the context of strengthening multilateral cooperation, the head of state thanked Ambassador Sergio Gor for his congratulations on Kyrgyzstan's election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2027-2028.
Furthermore, they noted the importance of developing economic cooperation and the role of the B5+1 platform in fostering business ties and creating new opportunities for interaction between Kyrgyz and American businesses.
President Sadyr Zhaparov also emphasized the need to simplify visa requirements for Kyrgyz citizens wishing to visit the United States.
In particular, the discussion focused on the possibility of finding practical solutions to simplify visa procedures for Kyrgyz citizens, including the visa bond requirement and the possibility of revising the relevant restrictions.
Ambassador Sergio Gor, in turn, agreed with the head of state's proposals and expressed his readiness to assist in strengthening Kyrgyz-American relations.
At the end of the meeting, President Sadyr Zhaparov conveyed greetings to US President Donald Trump and wished success to the American athletes participating in the World Nomad Games.
