Kyrgyz delegation participates in 34th session of IMO Assembly

Bishkek, Dec. 2, 2025. /Kabar/. The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic, led by Ambassador to the United Kingdom Ulan Dzhusupov, is participating in the 34th session of the IMO Assembly for the first time as a new member state.

According to the MFA, the meetings will be held in London from November 25 to December 4, 2025.

The Kyrgyz Republic's accession to the IMO is an important milestone in the development of the country's international cooperation and opens up additional opportunities for strengthening interaction with global maritime structures, increasing transport connectivity, and expanding participation in international trade corridors. Membership in the Organization underscores Kyrgyzstan's commitment to the principles of safe, sustainable, and environmentally friendly transport solutions, including the development of transit and multimodal routes of key importance for landlocked countries. It also reflects the country's desire to deepen its integration into international transport structures and protect its national interests in multilateral forums.

The Kyrgyz delegation is participating in discussions on key agenda items, including maritime security, digitalization of the shipping sector, emission reduction, and support for the needs of landlocked countries.

The Assembly will also elect 40 members of the IMO Council for the 2026-2027 term. The Kyrgyz Republic is holding relevant consultations with partner countries and is closely monitoring the process of forming the new Council.
